Prerequisite for highly developed driver assistance functions and automated driving are a reliable perception of the vehicle environment, a full understanding of this environment and a driving strategy, including appropriate reactions, derived from this understanding.
As a system provider, Continental supplies all the necessary components and all the intermediate steps for the realization of automated driving – from one source.
We are a full system provider for all components of future ADAS systems - including radar sensors, cameras and ECUs. Application-ready functions include Cruising, ACC, Lane Guidance Assist and Assisted Lane Change. Safety functions such as EBA and Minimum Risk Maneuver are integrated on the same platform.
We are a full system supplier for Automated Parking Systems including sensors and functions that include Surround View Cameras and Next generation Ultrasonic Sensors.
Adding sophisticated human vision will in future provide excellent and tailored views, supporting the driver and boosting the confidence in the system.
The model predictive driving planner is a big step from conventional vehicle control technology towards intelligent software. It considers a complex environment as well as vehicle dynamic constraints and calculates a safe and comfortable path for the car to follow. It enables challenging use cases of automated driving such as the presented dynamic evasion maneuver.
Continental’s answer to prevent increasing fatalities due to changing Urban Mobility with vulnerable road users (VRU) such as bicycles, scooters and Segways).
360° protection of VRUs powered by 4 corner Short Range Radar [plus Front Camera and Long-Range Radar].
The consequent next step to Continental’s Vision Zero.
Transparent Hood technology displays the area underneath the vehicle to the driver, giving the ability to see obstacles and terrain that would otherwise be obstructed from the driver’s view.
Maneuvering in narrow passages becomes a lot easier for the driver as it is clearly visible where the vehicle ends in relation to the environment.
Continental‘s LiDAR portofilo enables safety critical, Automated Driving applications for highly complex use-cases and environments.
Rapid development and delivery of automotive-grade LiDAR sensors with Continental‘s Partnering Strategy (with Aeye for Long-range) passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and Off-highway markets.
Electrification of the vehicles changes significantly the brake system use cases.
The drum brake has a high resistance against corrosion and huge reduction of particle emission. System thinking turns reliable drum brake into an innovation.
New trends from Electrification, HAD to Green Braking require new functions and an increased amount of information. A change in vehicle architecture boosts an evolution from classic brake systems, through Brake-by-Wire and One-Box Solutions to Motion Control Systems.
The drivers are Modularity/Scalability, HPC and Sustainability.
Enabling the most comprehensive transformation that the car has undergone since its invention, including:
High-performance computers for in-vehicle communication and connected services, for the cockpit, safety and motion as well as for automated driving, zone controllers and connectivity modules.
Efficient cross-domain platforms allowing updateability and upgradability, as well as greatest possible flexibility and modularity.
In our fast-moving world with the constant presence of technology, the need for rest and simplicity is growing. ShyTech displays hide technology from the user until needed and offer great new design possibilities.
In Cabin Sensing solutions we use a variety of sensors including camera and radar technologies to capture and evaluate the driver, passengers, and other objects as well.
With the seamless integration of Driver Monitoring Cameras into our Display Solutions our system delivers optimal performance while staying totally invisible for the driver.
The new curvature of the display surface, which is adapted to the human field of view, is perceived as more natural, as well as more immersive and at the same time offers new possibilities for vehicle design.
Fusion of Display and Cockpit into a seamless cockpit design creates synergies
Our innovative technology that has been developed over the last years abandons conventional speakers altogether, replacing them by compact actuators and exciting the surfaces in the vehicle interior to produce 3D sound. The result:
The Cockpit High Performance Computer (C-HPC) is our centerpiece of UX in the car. With the integration of all cockpit domains into one powerful HPC it facilitates maximum personalization for driver and passengers and a seamless use of cross domain applications.
Continental is in the unique position to provide and integrate all central elements for a server-based architecture. This includes solutions along the entire chain between the vehicle and the cloud:
Hands free access systems enhanced with Ultra-Wideband technology for highest levels of comfort and security.
Live demo shows the technical aspect of precise localization of the smartphone around the vehicle (inside & outside detection).
The Continental Automotive Edge Framework provides a modular & scalable automotive grade compute platform, the Cloud as scalable extension and a cohesive integrated tool framework.
It enables:
Continental is a key player in the provision of solutions for future architectures due to our competency to develop flexible & modular End-to-End System Architectures for future proven Software-defined Vehicles.
AD system development along the whole sense-plan-act chain for autonomous urban driving and valet parking
Experiencing health and safety functionalities
Innovations for Motorcycle Riding Safety. Radar- and camera-based rider assistance features displayed in an active riding demonstration.
Challenging driving situations are identified by the CES Driver Assist. The vehicle handling is shared between the driver and the CES Driver Assist.
A sustainable concept tire that combines current and future innovative tire technologies.
Among them is sustainable polyester yarn made from recycled PET bottles.

For Continental, the health and safety of all customers, partners, guests and employees has top priority. Because of that, prior to entering we will require all guests as well as all Continental staff at the event to agree to take a test for COVID-19 upon arrival (obviously with negative result. A test facility with trained medical staff will be available at the event check-in)
Furthermore
The safety concept of the event will be readjusted depending on future evolvement of COVID19 infection rates and legal requirements in the event location. You will receive an update of the precautionary measures approx. 2 weeks ahead of the event.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your local contact.
Continental is one of the oldest and largest manufacturing companies in Frankfurt. The company’s history goes back to 1904. Today the Frankfurt location is the headquarters of the Autonomous Mobility and Safety business area. Approximately 5.200 employees (incl. satellite locations) are employed in the areas of development, administration and production. The highly-automated plant is one of the most modern of its kind and produces nearly eight million electronic brake systems for the world market every year. Furthermore, future-oriented technologies like automated driving, are developed at the Frankfurt location.
Continental Frankfurt is located approx. 20min by Taxi from Frankfurt Airport (FRA). From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) we also recommend a Taxi (approx. 10min) instead of subway/S-Bahn due to COVID-19.
For those of you travelling by car visitor parking will be available on site.
